Business Today TV Show and Social Media

The Business Today TV Show is at the forefront of new trends in social media, from new technologies and apps in online dating to social media advertising and much more. Did you know that the producers of Business Today are constantly on the lookout for new hot developments on sites like Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter?

It can be tough to manage your social media accounts when you need to Tweet, post to Facebook, update your blog, check Instagram and WhatsApp your old university buddy all at the same time. It can be even more of a challenge to keep up with the bigger picture changes in the social networks you love and to stay informed of anything new on the scene. Things are always shifting in the world of social media, and if you aren’t keeping up you’re falling behind. This sounds rather intimidating and overwhelming doesn’t it?

business-today-social-mediaBeing able to get all the updates and news in one television show makes this a bit easier. The Business Today Television Program keeps an eye on all developments related to social media, from the meteoric rise of the anonymous chat app YikYak to recent introduction of Facebook’s legacy contact feature to the addition of an Uber SOS button for Indian users, for example. Social media is now fully international and multilingual in its influence.

If you can count on one thing, it’s that social media is perpetually changing. Remember MySpace’s spectacular rise and consequent fall to Internet obscurity? The heavyweights such as Facebook, Google and Twitter are bound to remain big names for years to come but only if they change to maintain pace with upstarts like Tinder and Snapchat. Don’t let yourself get left out of the loop. Stay abreast of the latest changes as they happen.

The Problem With Food Waste

Many people are unaware of the consequences attributed to food waste. Up to one-third of the world’s food is wasted, leaving many people without adequate nutrition, and creating a negative environmental impact. The new Planet Sustainability TV Show looks into food waste and what can be done to make a global change to reduce poverty and the squandering of environmental resources.

The average human wastes almost 500 pounds of food each year. All together, that adds up to be about 70 million tons of waste. When it comes to landfills, food is the third-largest component by weight taking up space. The odors and liquid that are produced from food waste as it breaks down generates methane gasses that can be even more potent to the environment than carbon dioxide.

Developed countries are responsible for more than half of the world’s food waste. Much of this is attributed to the over consumption of foods, by supermarkets, consumers, restaurants and other sources. In developing countries, the food losses come from the inability to properly store and transport food. This can result in undernourished populations that are unable to utilize about a quarter of the food being produced.

Food waste is a bigger issue than most people realize. Consumers have the ability to prevent excess waste by ordering less food and buying food in smaller packaging, signaling to producers that huge quantities are not necessary.

Why the Traditional Business Model Needs to Change

Buy Local sign

The basic business model has not changed for a significant period of time, because most companies adhere to the idea that if something is not broke, then there is no reason to fix it. However, the current business model is broken, and often contributes to many of the global problems, such as poverty, hunger, and climate change. The world is transforming, with significant changes in areas including the environment, social beliefs, politics, and technology. This not only alters people’s daily life. It also affects how businesses succeed.

With so many changes happening in the world, the foundational business models need to change to remain relevant and complement, not hurt, these areas. Therefore, innovation is needed in the creation of business models and practices to drive progress, especially in areas of sustainability. These innovative ideas are often some of the most vital for the success of the future, yet they remain the least developed.

Many businesses are afraid to make these changes because there is no formula or model that proves success. By educating industry leaders in ways that could successfully alter the business model to make it more successful and sustainable, then some of these ideas will become a reality. That is why the Planet Sustainability TV show strives to instruct the general public and businesses on the ways that the world needs to change in order to obtain future success.

Producers Become Hot Commodities by Helping Musicians Succeed

Chris Diodati, One of the Hottest Remix Producers in the Music Business

Music producers like Christian Diodati have become important players in the music business.

Producers who partner with musicians and help them achieve success can achieve fame nearly on par with the musicians themselves. Many producers, like Chris Diodati, record their own music, but flourish more working behind the scenes. Brian Eno, for example, is best known for his work producing albums for U2. Eno and U2’s success with albums like “The Joshua Tree” made Eno an in-demand producer, with other bands and musicians hoping he could help them succeed too. Producer Danger Mouse partnered with Cee-Lo Green in the project “Gnarls Barkley,” significantly raining his profile.

Top Producers Often Work with Many Artists

Like Danger Mouse, Diodati, who also records his own music, has risen in stature by working with multiple artists to help them achieve chart success. Danger Mouse rose to prominence for his unauthorized mash-up of The Beatles’ “White Album” and Jay-Z’s “The Black Album” in 2004. Danger Mouse has produced work for Gorillaz, Beck, the Black Keys and U2. Diodati, who has recorded and produced music under names like Christian Diodati, Christian Dio, Diomix, Christopher Diodati and simply Dio, has remixed songs by artists including Ciara, James Brown, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, Christina Aguilera, Angie Stone, Deborah Cox and Jamie Foxx.

Prominent producers like Timbaland, Sean Combs, Rick Rubin and Quincy Jones have earned great respect from music executives and musicians alike for their ability and reputation for producing hit music. Timbaland has produced music with Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Madonna, Mariah Carey and dozens of others. Combs has produced work for Mary J. Blige and the Notorious B.I.G., among others.

Great Talk Shows in TV History

Many of the Best Talk Shows Air Late at Night

Great Talk Shows in TV History

Johnny Carson hosted “The Tonight Show” for 30 years, helping to establish the TV program as an institution.

Although the definition of “talk shows” has evolved and changed over the years, a number of talk shows (by any definition) have made their mark through their longevity, their popularity, their social relevance or any combination thereof. Talk show hosts have become some of the most beloved TV figures in history, outranking even stars of TV series in terms of popularity and recognizability.  Generally speaking, the term “talk shows” refers to TV programs that consist primarily of interviews and conversations with guests and monologues by the shows’ respective hosts. Often filmed before live studio audiences, these shows primarily air in late night time slots, although some day-time shows today fit the bill as talk shows. Some of the most notable talk show hosts include TV legends like Johnny Carson, David Letterman and Larry King. Carson, the host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show” from 1962 to 1992, set the standard for talk show hosts, although he succeeded some trendsetters, namely Steve Allen and Jack Paar. Succeeding late night hosts like Letterman, Jay Leno and Jon Stewart readily acknowledge Carson’s influence. Leno succeeded Carson as host of “The Tonight Show.” King, the long-time host of “Larry King Live” on CNN, approached his role as a talk show host from more of a news angle than a comedic one. King continues to work, now as host of the In View series. Letterman has become a legend in his own right, working as a late-night talk show host for more than 30 years. “The Late Show with David Letterman” airs on CBS.

Late Night Talk Show Hosts Known for Their Insights

Late-night talk shows, and their hosts, have become known for their insights and political humor. Some say that their later airings allow the hosts of these shows to get away with comments that would not go over well in prime time. The political insights of Comedy Central’s talk show hosts, Jon Stewart of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and Stephen Colbert of “The Colbert Report” have made the hosts and their shows very popular with television viewers in many demographics.

Some day-time talk shows, such as that of Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Regis Philbin, have earned a place in the discussion of great talk shows.

Celebs’ Bad Behavior Can Influence Young People

Celebs Acting Badly Can Influence Teens

Celebs' Bad Behavior Can Influence Young People

Celebrities like Lindsay Lohan set bad examples for young people by acting irresponsibly.

With so many young celebrities making headlines for the wrong reasons, it should not surprise anyone that impressionable teenagers and other young people sometimes follow suit and make poor decisions. This is not to say that celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus bear responsibility for the actions and mistakes of young people, but, as celebrities, these young women should take into consideration that they do have influence on young people across the country. Sadly, when young celebs downplay the real harms of alcohol abuse and drug abuse, it can signal to young people that drinking and doing drugs is okay. Many young people today jeopardize their present and their futures through alcohol use and drug use. Parents and guardians concerned about their sons and daughters can seek professional help from residential treatment centers (RTCs) like the Integrity House Utah RTC, a leading treatment center for troubled young women.

Treatment Centers can Help Troubled Young People

Real and effective treatment centers like Integrity House help clients break their patterns of harmful behavior, and get their priorities in order, giving them the opportunity to lead prosperous and fulfilling lives. This facility, in Cedar City, Utah, provides young women who have made mistakes with professional counseling and behavioral therapy that empowers them to make wiser decisions and avoid situations that can lead to trouble.

The facility features a team of caring professionals who work together to help each client overcome the mistakes of her past and move forward. The team at Integrity House reviews strategies and practices used at leading treatment centers to try and improve their own methods and provide more effective treatment.
